ABOUT ME

I’m a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a Psychotherapist in advanced training towards an MSc in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy. I work in private practice and the voluntary sector.

My journey into therapy began with me sitting in the client's chair. As a queer kid growing up in South America, I found therapy to be a safe space where I could explore my identities and development.

Over the years, different therapists helped me understand my history, and connect with my feelings, my body, and my thoughts. They helped me find the resources I needed to figure out what was important to me and how to navigate relationships and to “grow through what I was going through”. My wish to offer others the same transformational experience led me to my psychotherapeutic training.

I believe that the professional is personal, and the personal is political. As a trans/non-binary person, my work is committed to social justice and resistance against oppressive systems and ideas that keep us alienated from ourselves, our bodies, and our communities. I invite my clients to use critical thinking to challenge some of these notions of privilege and oppression and to experience joy and power in their identities.

I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and the International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis (IARTA). I adhere to guidelines from these reputable institutions to maintain ethical practice and continue professional development.

I look forward to meeting you and contributing to your journey to good mental health.

WONDER

is a reference to the curiosity and critical thinking that is an integral part of talk therapies. It also evokes humanistic and existential philosophies in which we are seen as multifaceted individuals with a ‘constellation’ of identities that helps us navigate the world, define ourselves and connect to people. In these identities we find meaning, purpose and freedom.

COUCH

is a nod to my psychodynamic training in Transactional Analysis. An originally psychosocial therapeutic approach that explores how we communicate with each other, what stories we tell ourselves and how those narratives inform the choices we have made historically and today.

My approach to therapy is one of compassion for our humanity and wonder about how we exist in the world. I am interested in knowing "what happened to you" rather than "what's wrong with you". I see therapy as a non- judgemental, relational and co-created space where we can explore our unique stories and their development, observing the broader cultural, social and political nuances of each experience.
